Yeni Ekonominin En Büyük Problemi: Değeri Tanımak

The New Economy's Hardest Problem: Recognising Value

Perhaps the problem we are facing is not a shortage of talent, but a failure to recognise value and place it where it can be useful. We repeatedly hear that companies cannot find the right people. Yet the market is also full of highly capable, experienced professionals who find themselves outside the systems that once knew how to use them.

That contradiction deserves a better question. Is there truly a talent shortage, or is there a problem in how value is recognised, measured and matched?

The person who creates value and the profile a system knows how to identify are not always the same. As that gap widens, organisations say they cannot find talent while experienced people say they cannot find a place. Both statements can be true at the same time.

This may be more fundamental than the latest technology debate. Before deciding where AI tools belong inside an organisation, a company needs to know what it is trying to value and measure. A system that cannot define value will not make better decisions simply because it has better technology.

The harder task, then, is not only to acquire talent. It is to recognise value, define it clearly and place it where it can produce an outcome.

The New Economy’s Hardest Problem: Recognising Value

Perhaps the problem we are facing is not a shortage of talent, but a failure to recognise value and place it where it can contribute.

We repeatedly hear that companies cannot find the right talent. Yet there are also highly capable, experienced people outside the structures that know how to recognise them.

That raises a different question: is there really a talent gap, or is there a problem in how value is identified, measured and positioned?

The person creating value and the profile a system can recognise are not always the same. As that gap widens, organisations say they cannot find people while experienced people say they cannot find a place.

Before deciding how to position the growing number of AI tools inside organisations, we may first need to define what value actually means. A system that does not know what it is measuring cannot make a sound decision simply by adding more technology.
